A former home, the estate's history dates back to the Otago gold rush of 1861. Queenstown's first
European settler, William Rees, founded the Remarkables Station. Since then four generations have farmed
it. The homestead, built in the 1930s, was lovingly restored in 1995 and in 2004 refurbished and extended.
The legacy of previous generations makes Remarkables Lodge a building of character and charm.
